Local press follows up on consulting RFP

Public news of the request for proposals (RFP) for “Organizational Consulting Services for Benchmarking, Effectiveness, Efficiency and Flexibility Study at  UW-Madison.” apparently broke here and  here five days ago.  Now, as we hoped, the local press have followed up with considerably more detailed reporting in the Badger Herald (“Martin may hire outside firm to evaluate UW efficiency”) and the Capital Times (“More bucks for Bucky: UW mulls multimillion-dollar study to save money”).

While the additional information is very welcome, we are still concerned about detailed and substantive criticisms of a similar undertaking at UC Berkeley.   We sincerely hope that these concerns will be addressed before the University commits to such a complex, costly, and potentially controversial undertaking.
